Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning
for in you I put my trust.

Psalm 2

Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together
against the Lord and against the anointed, saying,
Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.”

The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.
God rebukes them in anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”

I will proclaim the Lord’s decree: God said to me,
You are my child; today I have become your parent.
Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.
You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”

Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear and celebrate God’s rule with trembling.

Kiss God’s son, or God will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction,
for God’s wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in God.

Holy One, we cry out to you: in the morning our prayers come before you.
Along with the worldwide fellowship of churches, we pray this morning for India.
God, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lord’s Prayer

Holy One, give us the solitary places we need, spaces in time when we can know your presence, feel your Spirit, and receive your healing power. Amen.

Benediction
I pray that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
may have power together with all the saints
to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,
and to know this love that surpasses knowledge,
that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Amen.
